Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few of the questions we get most often… but feel free to reach out if there’s anything we missed!

When can we get in to the venue? When do we have to leave?

We will welcome you to Bath Hollow Friday afternoon and you’ll have use of the space during the following times throughout the weekend:

  • Friday 4:00pm – 11:00pm
  • Saturday 8:00am – 11:30pm
  • Sunday 8:00am – 12:00pm

We hope this gives you plenty of time to set up and tear down the days before and after, and truly enjoy your wedding day!

The only other timing restriction we have is that the reception needs to end by 11:00pm on Saturday for noise purposes.

Can we have a rehearsal onsite?

Absolutely!  Once we welcome you on Friday afternoon, you have use of the space for whatever you need.  Many couples have also chosen to have a laid back rehearsal dinner onsite on Friday night!

How many people can the barn hold?

There is plenty of space for up to 200 guests in the barn – still leaving room for a dance floor, cake and gift tables, etc.

The benches at the ceremony area hold around 150 – for additional guests at the ceremony we recommend setting up a few rows of chairs at the top of the hill above the benches, and / or having folks stand – it’s up to you!

Pro Tip: If you want to make sure your guests are using all the space on the benches, it can help to have a couple of ushers to encourage folks the fill in the gaps!

Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?

Absolutely!  All love is welcome and celebrated here!

Do you have a place to get ready onsite?

Yes! New for the 2024 season, we have an airbnb right next to the barn that you can rent to get ready in! You can find all the details and a link to the airbnb listing here.

There’s space for at least one partner to get ready (or both, using the two separate floors), and it comfortably sleeps four, so you can stay the night as well!

This is the one small additional fee that’s not included in the rental package – you can get an idea of the current pricing on the airbnb listing. We typically rent it for two nights (Friday and Saturday) so you have use of the airbnb for the full time you have access to the barn!

We also block it off on wedding weekends so only you would be able to book it if you want it – we won’t let a random person stay during your wedding… that’d be awkward for everyone :-).

Do you have tables and chairs?

Yes, we have enough for 200 people!  Here’s what we have:

  • (200) white padded wood folding chairs
  • (25) 5ft round tables, which typically seat 8 people
  • (4) 8ft long rectangle tables
  • (1) 6ft long rectangle table

If you need more tables, we have a few recommendations for rental companies.

You’ll also need linens for the tables, which your caterer might be able to handle for you, or you can easily rent these as well.  We chose not to stock linens because they’re pretty easy and inexpensive to get elsewhere, and it gives you the choice of any color you’d like!

Can we use candles? Sparklers? Fireworks??

We love and welcome candles and sparklers!!  We unfortunately can’t allow fireworks – just trying to keep things legal 😉 .

What vendors can we use?  Do you include catering? Can we make our own food? Do you provide planning, decorating, or coordination services?

Our goal is offer a beautiful space and leave the rest up to you to be as creative and unique as you’d like to be! Therefore we do not include catering, planning, decorating, or coordinating services.  We welcome you to use any vendor that you’d like, or go the totally DIY route!

Our only request is that if you choose to use a caterer that’s not on our list, we’ll have a meeting onsite with them before the big day – since caterers are such a big part of the success of your event we want to make sure they have all the details right!

If you need some recommendations for vendors, just get in touch – we’re happy to share a list of folks we’ve enjoyed working with!

Should we use round or long tables?

Either one will fit in the space and we’ve had couples use both in the past!  The majority of the tables we provide are round (see the list above!).

Can we set up a party tent?

Sure!  There’s plenty of space in the lawn for a tent.

How about an outdoor dance floor?

Unfortunately no – outdoor dance floors damage the lawn and it won’t have enough time to recover before the next weekend’s wedding.  Luckily there is plenty of space in the barn for a dance floor (even if you’re at max capacity!) and your guests can use the outdoor space for lawn games and the bonfire!

Can I come visit again as I’m making plans for my wedding?

Of course!  Just make sure you schedule it with us!

Can I tour the cottage before I book it to get ready in?

If you’re here for a tour and the cottage is not occupied, we’ll gladly show you around! However, since it is available on airbnb when we’re not hosting weddings, we can’t guarantee it’ll be open when you visit. Luckily we have great photos and a detailed description on the airbnb listing if you’re not able to walk through in person!

When can we have our rentals delivered/picked up?

You’re welcome to have rentals delivered Friday before your event and picked up Monday – letting your rentals vendor know this should save you a little money on delivery fees.

Can I start setting up or drop things off early?

For most folks, starting to set up at 4:00 on Friday allows plenty of time! However, if the barn and staff are available, we may be able to accommodate requests for an earlier start time for an additional fee (to cover the cost of having staff available earlier to meet you). Reach out if you need this and we’ll discuss!

Do we need to hire security?

Nope – we work with a great security company and the cost is already included in the rental fee!

Can our dog/cat/iguana be a part of the ceremony?

Definitely!  Just make sure you let us know you’re planning to bring your pet(s)… and we’d prefer if it’s just your pets and not all the aunts and uncles’ dogs too :-).

Do you require that we purchase insurance?

Nope, but we do recommend it to protect the investment you’re making in your celebration.

Does the barn have heat and air conditioning?

Nope – a wedding at Bath Hollow Farm definitely has the feel of a celebration in the great outdoors!  That’s why we’re only open June through October.

Just letting your guests know that your big day will be mostly outside goes a long way toward making sure they’re dressed comfortably for the weather.

You are welcome to bring in fans or heaters to help with extreme temperatures (available at most rental vendors).  The barn fireplace works great to add some heat, and the window shutters on both sides of the building can be opened or closed as needed to help control the temperatures.

 What if it rains?

Having a backup plan for an outdoor ceremony is critical, but it doesn’t have to be complicated!

You can absolutely have the ceremony inside the barn. Either have guests seated at their tables, or have a small group of groomsmen/friends/family assigned to setting up the chairs in rows for a more traditional ceremony setup. Having a wedding planner or day-of coordinator can really help make this go smoothly.

Some couples have also opted to rent a tent for the lawn to use in case of rain.

Do you spray/fog for mosquitos?

We do not do traditional mosquito fogging – it’s really important to us to limit the use of pesticides whenever we can, plus we don’t want to hurt our honey bees!!

However, we’ve set up mosquito traps surrounding the lawn – they do a great job of reducing the number of the annoying blood suckers without harming any other, more friendly insects 🙂 !

Here’s Brett checking on his honey bees!

Where does everyone park?

We have a parking lot in the field on top of the hill, just a short walk from the main lawn and the barn – most of your guests will park here!  Since we don’t have a typical parking lot we provide parking attendants for every wedding to ensure that everyone finds a good spot.

This hill-top lot leaves plenty of parking spaces closer to the barn for folks with more limited mobility, and for vendors who need quick access to their vehicles.

Can I bring a golf cart to shuttle my guests from the parking area?

Unfortunately we can’t allow golf carts – we’ve found that it’s just not feasible to safely control the use of them. However, we do provide parking attendants that help make sure that anyone who can’t make the walk can snag a spot closer to the barn! There’s plenty of space along the driveway for anyone who needs to be closer for any reason.

Does Uber come to the farm?

Yes!  We’re not that far from the city, so Uber and Lyft have been pretty reliable options for a ride home!

Also, your guests are welcome to leave their vehicles overnight and come back to pick them up on Sunday – we very much encourage this option over risking an accident!  (In fact, if they catch us at the right time on Sunday morning we may even have a cup of coffee ready to share with them 🙂 ).

Where are the closest hotels?

The closest hotels are at the Steels Corners exit from Rt. 8 – just 10 minutes away (here’s a google map).

The Fairlawn/Montrose area hotels, as well as downtown Cuyahoga Falls and downtown Akron are also close – just about 15 minutes away.

Between those areas there are around 40 hotels within a 15 minute drive as well as several other airbnbs!
